Daoine shi' is a Scottish word for jinn used mostly in the Highlands; the word translates to mean variously jinn people, men of peace, perhaps the still-folk, and the still people, all euphuism used out of respect for the jinn, lest they become upset and vengeful. These jinn dress in green and are said to live in shians or tomhans, masses of rocks and hillocks are the entryway to their underground homes. Similar to the jinn of England the daoine shi' are not overtly injurious or malicious but rather joyous and overall content.
