In Celtic lore there is a vampiric jinni-spirit known as a death coach; it appears after the wail and subsequent attack of a banshee. The death coach descends from the sky, looking like a funeral coach drawn by a team black horses, although in some regions it is said the horses are white. The death coach collects the soul of the banshee's victim, traveling through the air and over the ground without making a sound. The death coach may be the transmuted concept of Charon, the Ferryman from Greek mythology; it is similar to the dullahan.
