Iskrzycki ("firestone" or "spark") was a specific and singular jinn being described as having horse hooves for feet. According to Polish folklore, Iskrzycki offered his services to a noble family which was accepted and a contract was drawn up and signed. After the nobleman saw Iskrzycki's feet and tried to dismiss him but the jinni would not leave, rather he took up residence, invisibly, by the fireplace doing the tasks assigned to him. The Lady of the house was unsettled by Iskrzycki and convinced her husband to move the family. As they traveled to their new residence, the wagon came upon a rough patch of road and nearly toppled over. The lady cried out in panic but Iskrzycki came to her rescue exclaiming for everyone to hear "Fear not my masters, Iskrzycki is here." With that, the family returned to their old home and learned to live with their jinni servant. He was good and reliable and quietly left when his contract expired.
